Ati driver crashes minecraft
Sorry, something went wrong. Confirmed issue is specific to which shaderpack is active. Game can crash with shaders, in the following scenarios Enabling shaders,. Switching shaders,. Changing settings on enabled shader,. Moving between dimensions using portals. Win 10, latest updates. Latest AMD driver, currently I think I can provide some minor insight into what's going on here.
This has been an issue since AMD driver The crash is caused by shader id re-use. Basically if you delete a shader in opengl, and then create a new one immediately after it gives you the id that was just deleted, which should be fine, but calling shaderSource on this ID crashes the driver, which is not fine.
It's technically a bug in the driver but given AMD's longstanding disinterest in opengl it might be worth applying a workaround of creating the new shader ids and then deleting the old ones, ensuring no immediate re-use. This issue, specifically the hardware-level crash in atio6axx. Other than AMD fixing their OGL drivers, which is pretty unlikely, do you think the work around you mentioned would be something on the Optifine side, or more likely something the shader devs need to be aware of?
AMD may be using multi-threading in the driver so deleting the shader doesn't really delete it, but puts it in the queue to be deleted by the resource thread, so recreating it immediately with the same ID could lead to a race condition. Do you think this is something you'd add a work around for in Optifine? Or more of a shader side thing as it only seems to affect certain shaders more than others?
The same thing happens to me with Nvidia GTX ti. With or without shaders, every time I try to portal into the nether it crashes my game. But sometimes I am able to portal into the nether but when I try to portal back to the Overworld it crashes. So every time I want to go into the nether and I'm using Optifine I have to save my game, quit the game and restart the game with Vanilla minecraft.
Any idea why this could be happening? Also a third farm with wither skeleton spawner with mob essence from the grinder and water flow that pushes the skeletons into an autonomous activator with beheading 8 sword.
Gotxi , May 29, R41DZ3R0 , May 29, Thanks for your reply Nope, i am not using anything extra but the amd Drivers. I have not installed even radeon relive, just the plain drivers. I have reinstalled them, same issue. I also used DDU and installed them again from scratch, same issue again. Thanks for the input! On the link you provided the person has a problem with d3d9.
Astyanax , May 30, There is no DirectX on minecraft, it works with openGL. It worked perfectly for some months until last week. I was led to believe up to version Last edited by hahahaman22; at AM. Welcome to the ROG forums! Was hoping someone else would reply since I haven't heard much about running Minecraft with the G73Jh or have much to say about the VBIOS, but I'll give you my opinion about vga drivers below if you are interested. Before doing that, just make sure any other programs or games you ran before okay are still running okay now and there isn't some other related problem with software or hardware causing this Minecraft issue.
Check this link for the latest bios and approved drivers from ASUS for the G73Jh, but updating the bios may be the last thing to try if at all since a bad flash can completely kill your unit and may not even be worth the risk if you are out of warranty. ASUS also has unapproved vga drivers on their site you can try I suppose I should recommend you back up first if necessary to be safe if you check tihs link , but they are not listed by model or updated indefinitely for your notebook model, so I would look for something older driver posted dates are listed on the site too that has similar but higher or lower versions but posted more recently?
Finally, I don't know a whole lot about the ATI vga drivers posted elsewhere and how well they will work, but may be another thing to check into as well.
